When atoms, molecules and ions interact, there are two possibilities: reaction or interaction. This interaction has the direct consequence of producing energy, which is fundamental to the existence of almost everything around us. In this work, in contrast to science, this interplay gains unusual compositional arrangements with sensitive values, thinking of persistent beings in a reality, who construct and reconstruct stories.
Enthalpy is a thermodynamic function used to calculate the heat involved in isobaric processes, i.e., processes that are maintained at constant pressure. It is the measure of the total energy contained in a system, which can be released or absorbed during a process. It is in the immensity of the Fluminense Supply Center, located in Irajá, in the North Zone of the city of Rio de Janeiro, that this saga takes shape. As the second largest Supply Center in Latin America, it becomes the epicenter where rustic life and the essence of the metropolis intertwine in a vibrant and incessant vital dance. The word enthalpy, which is derived from the Greek, enthalpein, meaning “to heat”, appears in my search from the encounter with the grandeur of this unplanned journey, which revealed itself as an indissoluble link between production and consumption, heat and energy, as a temple of encounters and transformations, where this photographic essay accompanies the unfolding of the narrative of life in its fullness, in a pure and unadulterated representation of the reality of this space where around 60 thousand people circulate daily, including traders, producers, transporters and customers who work in the distribution and sale of fruits, vegetables and greens, creating this enigmatic narrative that awakens my uneasiness in the scarce rapture of this journey, which seems to me to be contemplated by few.
